Burnout
Do you feel exhausted but find it hard to rest? Does it feel like no matter how much you do, you haven’t done enough? Our fast paced culture encourages us to push past our own limits in the name of accomplishment and success. If we consistently ignore our bodies’ signals for rest and recuperation, we teach our bodies to stop signaling for those things altogether. This doesn’t mean we stop needing rest, it means we get stuck in stress without recuperation - a recipe for burnout.
Burnout from chronic stress can look like:
Feeling tired even after sleep
Constant pressure to do more
Desire to numb or disconnect from day to day life
Loss of motivation
Finding it hard to rest
Please know that relief is possible. Our work together may include:
Learning to regulate the nervous system, stepping out of the stress response
Restoring the mind and body connection
Examining deeper motivations and internal narratives around success and identity
Start close in,
don’t take
the second step
or the third,
start with the first thing
close in,
the step you don’t want to take.
