Frequently Asked Questions
What led you to become a therapist?
I was drawn to therapy after years of work in mental health crisis. After completing my Masters in Social Work, I worked in crisis settings at an inpatient mental health hospital and an emergency room. Though I enjoyed that necessary and meaningful work, I never had enough time with people. I wished we could dive deeper, but the pace of those settings didn't allow for it. Moving into the therapy world gave me that opportunity. I'm so grateful for clients that allow me along in their journeys week after week because that is where transformation happens. We have the time to build trust and move toward change together, until one day you are enjoying life again, able to feel hope and to see yourself clearly.
Can I use my insurance?
I am in network with Aetna and Optum (UHC) through a company called Alma. Otherwise I am happy to provide a super bill (receipt of services with billing codes) for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
What do you charge without insurance?
Standard Individual 50 minute session - $190
Individual 60 minute session - $228
I offer a sliding scale for those in need of a financial break in an effort to make therapy more accessible.
Where do you see clients?
I have in person availability in Los Angeles (Los Feliz neighborhood), and offer virtual therapy for clients across California and Texas. The flexibility of virtual therapy means my clients can join from anywhere in those two states as long as there is a stable internet connection available.
How will we meet ?
In person sessions occur in an office space in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. I will meet you in the waiting room at our session time and show you to my office.
Virtual sessions occur over video on a secure platform called SimplePractice. For existing clients, sessions by phone are also available as needed.
